http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htm is the fastest way to customize your character.

1) Ability score should be set into standard. (I can check it out so be honest). after you allocated the right scores choose accept these scores.

2) Then choose which race/template/gender/ Alignment. Then accept.

3) Then it'll ask you what class / level. Choose a class you desire then choose level 1.

4) after all option are filled up. Copy / paste your character to the character reference.

Me and my pals usually use the 35 point buy system, first HD max hp and then you roll the rest if you start higher than 1st level. see the examples in the boards. but this may vary depending on who is the DM for a certain adventure. Welcome to the Boards dude/dudette!

Yup. Its best to coordinate with the DMs on character creations. Welcome to the forums.
