these are only some of the spoilers for the comming 4th edition
these would be the new look of 4th ed
Known facts
# The Players Hand Book will come out in May 2008, the Monster Manual in June and the Dungeon Masters Guide in July.
# There will be an online subscription called DnD Insider service which will include Dungeon and Dragon Magazines (these are no longer published in paper format) as well as tools to make the DMs life easier (character creators, loot generators, a virtual tabletop that can be used to create maps for use in game or to play online using voice chat). A particulary cool thing is that each book bought for 4th Ed. contains a code, entering the code into DnD Insider will give you a digital copy of the book as well as special bonus features and expanded content.
# The core will include rules for up to level 30.
# Tieflings will be a part of the 'core' races, and possibly Eberron's Changelings, too. Either half-orcs or gnomes will not be.
# Races will aquire more racial abilities as they gain levels, maxing out around 10th level.
# The fighter class will specialize in a weapon or a group of weapons, gaining attack manouvers based on his chosen weapon(s).
# Memorising spells (and loosing them after they have been cast) will be mostly gone.
# Wizards will be able to cast 25th level spells
# A wizard will never completely run out of spells. They can run out of their “mordenkainen’s sword, however”.
# The feat system is getting completely redone.
# The grapple system is getting redone to make it less messy and less confusing.
# All characters have at will, per encounter, and per day uses they will have to keep track of.
# The experience point award system is getting reworked.
# The 4th edition Ranger will incorporate many of the features of the 3.5 Scout
# Magical items will be easier to create, not requiring XP to make or crafting feats.
# The way Attacks of Oppurtunity work will be changed, but they will still be there.
# Defined Roles
# New Power Sources
# Resource Management
# New Encounter Design
# Easier to DM
