After creating a character, You can post your character either in the Character Reference or in the Waiting Room. From there you can PM the DM for the specific campaign to let him know that your character is ready to enter his world. After verifying your character, The DM will check if there are any available slot for your Character to enter. (Sometimes, DM only needs a specific numbers of players). After your character has been approved You will need a brief history of your character and why is he/her adventuring. PM the DM about this is he would agree( most possibly he would. Its your character after all. Then wait for the DM to give you an introduction story line. Then you should be able to play your character in that campaign.
