Chapter Four-The Great Oak

After following the path through the mist for almost an hour, the four of you arrive at a large clearing dominated by a colossal Oak tree at its center. You remember what Councilwoman Varina told you, that according to legend, the witch Umara's home was a gigantic oak tree in the middle of the forest.

From where you stand, you spot what could be a doorway carved at the massive Oaks base. But as you move closer you suddenly hear loud, booming laughter coming from above....



A large red skinned man suddenly appear floating 30' above you. His entire body is covered in flames that does not seem to burn him or his clothes (southern styled) the slightest.

Red Man to Party:
"BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA !!!! MORE FOOLS HAVE COME TO THE DREAD WITCHES LAIR. I HOPE YOU AT LEAST GIVE ME A BIT OF ENTERTAINMENT BEFORE I BURN YOU TO A CRISP BWAAAAHAHAHAHA!!! SHALL WE BEGIN..."

Jukai whispers to others: If san goku keeps on flying guys, I won't be able to hit him...I'm no good in this fight. Just fire your bows at him.... I'll distract him if I can...



Jukai's action: Moves out from cover but still beside the tree..




Jukai shout to Redman: Hey Goku!!!!.....It would be practical as in the [glow=red,2,300]RULES OF WAR[/glow]that you finish 1st a helpless opponent... (Taunt)




Juaki actions: Brings his arms up to show that he does no have any range weapon.




Jukai to Redman: If thats the case..Goku!!!! Finish me first...That is... IF YOU CAN!!!!!!



Shadowhart to DM: Jukai will be in full defensive running mode while redman is flying. Jukai will taunt & distract redman so that he will be attracted to keep attacking jukai while athos & lestrand attack redman.

Adora, I suggest you drop the bag of holding containing the exposives, you don't want to blow up do you?(Remember what DM told us regarding failed saving throws vs fire) As for moi, time for me to shed some "Foppish Blood!" hehehe.

aizhel to Fenix: The necklace will not explode as long as it's inside the bag of holding. It's in another dimension. He might not go for our bait he will fight to his advantage not ours.

ROUND ONE:

INITIATIVE ORDER:

Sand 24: ghost step then attack with shuriken
Adora 19: swift cast bless then attack with bow
Redman 18: use fire spells
Jukai 13: total defense and take cover behind a tree
Lestrand 5: draw MORNINGSTAR while holding bow

Before the flaming giant could finish mocking the party, Sand had already disappeared. The ninja moved closer as he drew and shot one of his shurikens at the giant. But the tiny metal star missed, falling a few inches short of its target.

With a swift prayer, Adora blessess the entire party, raising their moral. The paladin then drew her bow and launched an arrow at the flaming giant...

Adora attacks redman:

The paladin's arrow flew wide, missing the giant.

The flaming giant roars with laughter at the party's futile attempts at attacking him. "BWAAAHAHAHA YOU FOOLS ARE NO MATCH FOR A PRINCE OF THE EFREET. NOW BUUUUUUUUUUURN..." With a wave of his hand the efreet creates a 20' high ring of shimmering fire around the party...

The wall sends forth an intense wave of heat to all inside it. Lestrand and Jukia were both able to protect themselves in time (-3hp) but Adora took the full brunt of the heatwave (-7hp).

Wanting to get the efreeti's attention, Jukia covers his head with his arms (total defense AC23) and storms through the wall of fire...

Fighting of the burning pain as best as he could (-18hp), Jukai takes cover at a nearby tree and shout several colorful taunts at the the efreet.

With bow at hand, Lestrand rummages inside the magic bag until he pulls out the mummy's magical morningstar. But without the proper command word the weapon's icy abilities are useless.

The ninja waited for the right moment to strike again, and let loose a shuriken for the second time. And Sand made sure to do something different in his strategy...he whispered PRINCE OF EFREETI to his shuriken.
